3 Incredibly Helpful Ways to Use an AI Assistant

AI Assistant

Back in 2010, if you needed an assistant, you might have had to hire someone to help you.

But it is not the same anymore.

The advent of high-speed internet has pushed the limits of tech in general, and here we are: you want to make an itinerary for a trip to Venice? You will get that in seconds. You are baking something, and your hands are covered with cocoa? Not a problem! Just ask your AI-powered assistant, and it will search for the thing you are looking for without even needing to touch anything.

There is so much more that you can do (more on that coming up), and all of that has been made possible with the help of artificial intelligence assistants. And it is so cool yet helpful!

If you have tried such AI assistants in the past and said, “Nah! They are messy.”, this is the time to give them another shot.

Speaking of which, where should you start? Let me walk you through exactly that.

·      You Can Set Reminders and Tasks

In our daily lives, we are juggling between personal and professional aspects throughout the day. And to be honest, it doesn’t get more complicated than this. Sometimes when you try to focus on one aspect of your life, you lose grip on the other, and it is frustrating. But we have the solution, let me share that with you.

AI assistants are one of the best tools that you can use to make things work in all aspects of your life. How? For example, Asana is a tool that helps lay the foundation of a project. Once you have a strong foundation, you will ace it (I know that). Built-in AI assistant in Asana will help you strategize the workflow – the things that should be done quickly, and the things that can wait around for a bit.

Once you are sorted here, you will be able to pull the execution trigger. That was for your professional life. What about your personal life? How can you manage that with the help of an AI assistant?

I am a Google Pixel user, and it is loaded with tons of features, especially the ones powered by AI. One of them is the new Google Assistant, which is basically Gemini that can understand voice commands. As soon as I have to do a task for later, I call up the assistant and just ask it to remind me of it later (which it does!).

It can also do more. For example, I was moving to LA last month (yeah, I do love the weather and the beach). I work remotely, so a reliable WiFi is a must for me, and nothing beats fiber internet when it comes to reliability. While I was driving around the new neighborhood I was moving in to, I said, “Hey Google, find fiber internet near me.”, and it pulled a list of internet providers with their available internet plans. I was happy to see that, and got my fiber internet connection even before moving. So, that was good.

·      You Can Perform In-Depth Research

Another great use case of AI assistants is research.

Whether you are a lecturer preparing for your next lesson, or you are a corporate employee ramping up on your next career-defining presentation, there are some topics that, first of all, are complicated to comprehend, and then there are very limited resources available on such topics. In such cases, not only can AI assistants help you research the topic, they will help you save time, so that you can focus on what matters (the actual lecture or the presentation).

Having said that, there are tons of tools that are available, which one should you go for specifically for the research? In my opinion, Perplexity AI is the best of all. Why Perplexity? It can have access to real-time data. So, even if a blog is posted 10 seconds ago on the web, it will have access to that. On top of that, it is reliable for researching. It evaluates and clearly mentions the source along with its findings.

Another great tool here is ChatGPT. It is almost the same as Perplexity, but it is versatile. It can do more than just the research. So, if you need more, go with ChatGPT, else Perplexity is still the best when it comes to research.

·      You Can Communicate in Multiple Languages

How many times have you visited a foreign country, struggled to communicate while buying food, and thought to yourself, “I should have learned some basic words in their language!”? Well, that might not be the case anymore because AI assistants can help you there.

Whether you are talking on the phone or in person, translation tools like Google Translate will translate your voice commands into the desired language. To be honest, it is a lifesaver. Just make sure you have an active internet connection because these translation tools don’t work without the help of the internet.

Well, these are the use cases that I have used AI assistants for, and you can too. So, do check them out. If you need more interesting use cases, then visit this subreddit. People share their unique ways to use AI assistants.
